Brand Identity

Filmline is a platform that celebrates the cinematic artform. Its goal is to invigorate interest in films and filmmaking by making the medium accessible and exciting to casual movie fans. The platform features articles and reviews of both recent and older films as well as pieces on the craft and history of filmmaking. Accompanying the website is a quarterly magazine that covers the same topics in greater depth. 
         The custom-drawn logotype nods to the angular forms of theater auditoriums and projection lights. Capturing both the bold excitement of movies and the editorial side of the platform, the visual language of Filmline shifts between two primary typefaces: a condensed sans-serif and a contemporary serif.  Informed by the vibrancy of technicolor, the branding also uses saturated pink and yellow for its key accent colors that are then supported by a limitless secondary palette to cover the infinite number of stories that movies can tell.
